There’s currently a nice wiki on the wired website providing a range of useful tips for creating a viral online political video.

In a similar, but more practical vein, the excellent Digital Ethnography project published a “How to make a YouTube Mashup” guide a while back that is pitched at a “Dummies Guide” level (ie the level of the vast majority of political hacks).

Finally, while we’re on the topic, if you don’t have Final Cut Pro, check out this free video editor. It’s received some pretty good reviews in recent times.

While Hugh Atkin doesn’t need any tips, the rest of us could learn a thing or two.
